Established in 2015, KayLeo Urban Farm is a non-profit dedicated to caring for the people and environment in northwest Indianapolis We believe in making the world a better place (wherever you happen to be) and in treating all people with kindness, care and respect. Our mission is to support our community by providing healthy food, educational opportunities and environmental stewardship.
Three Parts to the Mission
Growing Healthy Food
At KayLeo we have almost 8,000 square feet of growing space. Our gardens, hoop house and greenhouse provide healthy, organically grown food for all people - including those facing food insecurity in northwest Indianapolis. This is done through food pantry donations and founding the Pike Farmers Market in 2022..
Education
Connecting people to each other and providing education on healthy ways to grow food is an important part of KayLeo’s mission. We would love for you, your family or a group you’re in to schedule a tour or find a time to volunteer!
Caring for the Environment
Growing food sustainably and organically is integral to KayLeo. Our food is grown without commercial pesticides and in harmony with the environment. We use regenerative farming practices that maximize and increase soil quality. In addition, starting in 2020 almost 70% of our energy has been produced through solar power.
